NAV Loan

A NAV loan is financing secured against the value of a fund's portfolio of investments rather than against undrawn LP commitments. GPs use it to support portfolio companies, fund add-ons, or accelerate distributions to LPs late in a fund's life. It has grown popular but is debated because it adds leverage at the fund level.
