DPI (Distributions to Paid-In)

DPI measures how much cash a fund has actually returned to LPs relative to what they have paid in, ignoring the value of unrealized holdings. A DPI of 1.0x means investors have gotten their money back; above 1.0x means they are in profit on realized returns. It is the 'real money' companion to TVPI, which also counts paper gains.
