Limited Partner (LP)

A limited partner is a passive investor that commits capital to a private equity fund but takes no part in day-to-day management. Their liability is capped at the amount they commit. Typical LPs include pension funds, endowments, insurers, sovereign wealth funds, funds-of-funds, and wealthy families.
