Value Creation

Value creation is the set of actions a sponsor takes to increase a portfolio company's worth: growing revenue, improving margins, making acquisitions, and paying down debt. It is the operational engine of PE returns, as opposed to financial engineering alone. Modern firms often have dedicated teams and playbooks to drive it.
