Placement Agent

A placement agent is a firm hired by a GP to help raise capital by introducing the fund to prospective LPs and managing the fundraising process. They provide relationships, market intelligence, and support with materials in exchange for a fee, often a percentage of capital raised. They are especially useful for newer managers without deep LP networks.
